Your first visit to Orthodontic Associates will involve a few special steps so that we can get to know you.

Please read this page for important information including our mission statement, first visit details and driving directions. For your convenience, we’ve also included important patient forms below. Please print and complete these forms and bring them with you to your appointment.

Mission Statement
It is our mission to provide you with the best smile possible in a warm and friendly environment where communication throughout the treatment experience is our first priority.

Initial exam
Your initial exam appointment will give you the opportunity to meet our team, Learn more about orthodontics, receive a complete exam, and find out which treatment options will best meet your needs. During your exam, we will:

  • Review your dental and medical history forms
  • Provide an orthodontic exam and review any radiographs provided. Panoramic radiograph may be recommended and reviewed. An additional charge will apply
  • Discuss your potential treatment options
  • Discuss financial information

Our team will be glad to answer any questions you may have, and we will provide all of the information that you  need to determine which treatment is right for you. Please contact our office to schedule your initial exam.

Diagnostic Records and Consultation
After your initial exam, we will schedule a diagnostic records appointment where radiographs, impressions and photographs are taken. This information is then thoroughly studied by Dr. Karker to produce a comprehensive diagnostic treatment plan. This plan will be presented and thoroughly explained to you before treatment begins.

Your Orthodontic Journey Begins!
Your start date will be set! This appointment will take 1-2 hours depending upon the scope or work determined. The assistant will explain the steps and answer any questions you may have. Instructions regarding care and maintenance of your braces will be explained. You are on your way to a beautiful smile.

Adjustment Appointments
Visiting the orthodontist about every four to eight weeks is an important part of your orthodontic treatment. Our office will work with you to make sure that your appointments are as convenient as possible.

Visiting Your Dentist During Orthodontic Treatment
It is very important that you continue to visit your family dentist every six months, even during your orthodontic treatment, for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups. If extra dental care is needed, we will be happy to coordinate with you family dentist to make sure that you are receiving the best care possible.
